"Because Talking is always better than squaking" If you're here you've asked, "How do I teach my bird or parrot to talk?" The key to training your Parrot or any speech capable bird to talk or whistle, as with any learned behavior, is repetition. CD's are the perfect way to teach while your away at work or stepping out of the house. CD's are also superior to a cassette in both quality and due to the fact that a cassette doesn't let you focus on just one phrase. All our CD's are digitally produced for maximum clarity and you'll get our Speech, Wacky Phrases and SFX, Whistling or Stress Relief CD's (actual bird sanctuary sfx). How the Training works! You simply insert CD, press program, enter desired track, select the repeat option, and it plays until you stop it. All home and most portable CD players have these options, even your windows CD player interface. Each phrase has a natural ten second pause before it repeats. If you'll be gone for a long period of time you can program the last track (5 minutes of silence) along with your phrase. This will give your bird a five minute break for every minute of training. Program in this manner if you'll be leaving the CD playing for periods longer than 30 minutes. The 5 minute break will help avoid burn out! To get them to mimic a speech pattern or song we highly recommend that you only try and teach your bird one at a time. It will also work faster if you reinforce the phrase as your time permits as well. Once the phrase or song is learned and used regularly, move on to another. Remember for training, the shorter it is, the easier it will be learned. Read more...

Don’t waste time with the cheap dog-bone clickers. This is reliable and you never find you’re mashing the “wrong end” and failing to make the noise precisely when you need to. This was just the right clicker for me and my GSMD puppy when we were both learning marker/clicker training technique. That said, I finally switched to using my voice (I follow Ed Frawley’s training advice and now YES! takes the place of click). Why? because with a leash, treats, and other gear there’s one less thing to manage by hand, I never misplace my voice, and am always prepared to emit the behavior marker at the correct time! The switch from clicker to voice was no problem for either me or my dog, and there are still uses for these excellent clickers in training.
